Judy McKinty is a play consultant, cultural heritage interpreter and researcher with many years' experience in the field of children's play and folklore. She is an Honorary Associate of Museum Victoria, and has been closely involved in research, exhibitions and other projects for some of Australia's significant cultural organisations, including:

• The University of Melbourne
• The National Library of Australia
• The National Museum of Australia
• The Bendigo Post Office Gallery
• The Performing Arts Museum, Victorian Arts Centre

• Play consultant for Bendigo Post Office Gallery's exhibition Childhood: growing up in Bendigo
• One of several field researchers for Childhood: Tradition and Change, a four-year national play research project funded by the Australian Research Council, for The University of Melbourne, Museum Victoria, Deakin University and The National Library of Australia
• Consultant for Childhood Chants soundscape, Australia Gallery, Melbourne Museum
• String games workshops, Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Melbourne Museum
Aboriginal Children's Play oral history project for the Australian Children's Folklore Collection, Museum Victoria
