FESTIVALS & CELEBRATIONS

A program of children's games can add fun to a festival and enliven a celebration, particularly if the games can be played by parents and children together.

The Play Lady's programs are specially designed to provide fun activities with a little learning thrown in as a bonus. They can be as simple as a street stall or as active as a whole range of playthings and games for children and families to enjoy together.

In addition to the games, there can be photos, books and information about children's play and folklore, and instructions for playing.

The aim of the program is to bring people together through the common childhood experience of play, and to share children's traditional games with people of all ages and from many different backgrounds.

A children's play program, in different configurations, has been to these festivals:

• Williamstown Festival
• Sydney Road Street Party, Brunswick Music Festival
• National Folk Festival, Canberra
• City of Kingston Festival (with the Victorian Folklife Association)
• Warrnambool Fun4Kids Festival (with the Victorian Folklife Association)
