Judy McKinty is an independent children's play researcher, consultant and cultural heritage interpreter, based in Melbourne, who has been researching, documenting and sharing children's play and traditional games for over 20 years. She is an Honorary Associate and member of the Children's Folklore Reference Committee of Museum Victoria.

Her work includes playground research in schools, exhibitions, workshops and displays about children's traditional games and the presentation of papers at conferences in Australia and overseas.

She has written articles about children's play and folklore which have been published in books, journals and other publications.
